Corda Secca is our line of hand-glazed Italian tiles.

With intense colors surrounded by dark lines, this tile resembles stained glass in its boldness and beauty.  This versatile line is suitable for floor accents, walls, fire-place surrounds, kitchens backsplashes, stair risers, and pools; virtually any indoor or outdoor use.

The process of filling wax or oil-based lines with opaque glazes has been around for centuries, coming to Southern Europe from the Arabic countries.  These tiles were made famous in the United States in the 1920s and 30s when a number of companies in Southern California started producing and selling their own lines.

At MAG Designs, we start with a high-fire Italian quarry tile, then apply a combination of glazes of different textures and colors to create visually stunning designs.  Pictures simply do not do these tiles justice!
